Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IOCAS) was established on August, 1950, and it is one of the oldest institutes in marine science in China. IOCAS is also a key center for graduate education and training in marine science in China. It offers both PhD and M.S. degrees in 9 research fields, such as marine biology, physical oceanography, marine geology, marine ecology, marine chemistry, environment science, marine corrosion, marine medicine and aquaculture, and it also offers M.S. degree in meteorology and environmental engineering. It provides post-doctoral research opportunities in marine science too. At present, IOCAS has 720 scientific and technical personnel, including 299 senior research technicians, 144 Ph.D. supervisors and 199 Master supervisors.

Young students from every corner of the world are welcome to join in IOCAS to continue their education and training as a post-graduate or postdoctoral, thus to achieve their dream of being an outstanding scientist in marine science.
