French Scholars Visit the IOCAS

Mr. Emmanuel Thouard and Ms. Jeanneret Oger, two project coordinators of the Department of International Relations, IFREMER of France, and Ms. Christelle Rrouault, the representative of Bretagne in Shandong, visited the IOCAS on July 2.

Dr. Liu Ying introduced the overall performance of the IOCAS and the progress of an IOCAS-IFREMER high-technology cooperation project—Reducing Potential Environmental Impact of Intensive Mariculture through Recirculation-Design and Optimization of Biological Filters, and initiated the future actions in the cooperation.

Mr. Emmanuel Thouard and Ms. Jeanneret Oger were satisfied with the achievement of the cooperation. Meanwhile, they introduced in particular the GERRICO Project, a science and technology plan that currently proposed by several French scientific organizations, and discussed with IOCAS sci-tech professionals on further cooperation. Besides, the two sides discussed the arrangement of Sino-French Joint Doctorship Program and the candidate dispatching plan, etc.. The guests then visited the Key Laboratory of Marine Ecology and Environmental Science, the Key Laboratory of Experimental Marine Biology, and the germplasm bank in the IOCAS, etc.
