The academic month of year 2010 to celebrate IOCAS 60th anniversary series of academic seminars started on July 16th.
Prof. HOU Yijun, deputy director of IOCAS presided over the opening ceremony. Academicians QIN Yunshan, HU Dunxin, assistant directors YANG Hongshen, WANG Fan and more than 200 researchers and students participated in the meeting. Prof. WU Dexing, director of Ocean University of China and prof. ZHAO Meixun gave lectures on “Problems concerning the environmental change of the China seas under the background of global climate change” and “The evolution of China’s coastal environment: modern process and record”.
Prof. Hou said that the year 2010 is the 60th anniversary of IOCAS, in order to commemorate this grand moment in history, retrospect the glorious development of IOCAS and summarize its achievements over the past 60 years, IOCAS invited renowned scientists from various disciplines to give a series of academic seminars to our researchers and students, hoping to further promote interdisciplinary academic collaboration and exchange and to create a good academic atmosphere.
Since 2007, IOCAS has successfully held the academic month programs for three consecutive years, building a good platform of academic exchange for the researchers and students, which played an important role of promoting academic exchange.
