The Department of Science and Technology of Shandong Province gave the Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IOCAS) the green light to establish a Sino-Japan Cooperative Research Center for Marine Anti-Corrosion.
The establishment of the center implies more chances for bilateral cooperation in such areas as academic exchange, talent team construction and marine anti-corrosive projects.
The center is part of International Cooperative Platforms of Shandong Province that aim to broaden international S&T exchange and cooperation by taking advantage of research institutes, universities and enterprises, and integrating various resources at home and abroad.
The cooperation between IOCAS and associated Japanese bodies has lasted for around 30 years during which the two sides have established many research centers regarding marine corrosion, held 5 consecutive international conferences, and undertaken multiple international cooperative projects.
