Delegation of Canadian Embassy in China Visits IOCAS

A delegation of Canadian Embassy in China headed by Counselor (Commercial) Owen Teo paid a visit to the Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IOCAS) on March 15, 2011.

IOCAS’s representative gave an overview of IOCAS including its research focus and developing plan for the next five years, and introduced IOCAS’s cooperation experience with marine research institutes of Canada.

The two sides exhchange views on a range of topics including personnel exchange and talents training. They all recognized the significance of carrying out more cooperation between China and Canada.

“The Chadian Embassy in China would serve as bridge between official organizations of the two countries so as to expand and deepen bilateral cooperation in the R&D on oceanology”, said Owen Teo.
