Prof. Bill Peterson from Hatfield Marine Science Center (HMSC) paid a visit to the Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IOCAS) to seek academic exchange on Dec. 5, 2011.
IOCAS director SUN Song gave an overview of IOCAS and introduced its scientific research progress in the field of marine ecology to Prof. Bill Peterson who, in response, outlined HMSC’s research progress in long-term monitoring on offshore ecosystem in the west coast of U.S. and the impacts of climate change on offshore ecosystem.
Prof. Bill Peterson also delivered an academic report entitled “The Pacific Decadal Oscillation and the source waters feeding the Northern California Current determine food web structure” during the visit.
