Prof. Detlef Stammer, Fellow of the Max-Plank Society, Director of Center for Earth System Research and Sustainability, Universit？t Hamburg paid a visit to the Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IOCAS) on August 23, 2012.
Prof. Stammer had an in-depth discussion with researchers of Key Laboratory of Ocean Circulation and Waves, IOCAS and delivered a report on "Data Assimilation and Parameter Estimation", introduced four-dimensional variational data assimilation principles and the international forefront of GECC (German version of Estimating the Circulation and Climate of the Ocean) / accompanied assimilation system in the calculation of oceanographic parameters, and showed related research.
