Workshop for Sino-Norway Seaweeds R & D Research and Academic Exchange was held in Institute of Oceanology, China Academy of Sciences (IOCAS) at May 10, 2018.
Prof. Yu Rencheng made a welcome speech. Dr. Li Yanwei gave a detailed introduction of IOCAS from history, missions, platforms, research and outputs, international cooperation and future development of IOCAS, etc. Prof. Duan Delin introduced all Norwegian participants and all Chinese researchers, including researchers from Yellow Sea Fishery Research Institute and China Ocean University.
Heidi Meland (the Norway delegation leader) gave a detailed introduction about seaweed in Norway. Prof. Margarita Novoa-Garrido give an introduction of seaweed research and Nord University. Prof. Duan Delin gave an overview of seaweed industry including research, farming and processing in China.
All the directors and scientists had a deep discussion on mutual interests and possible R&D and/or its driven commercial cooperation, network, personnel exchange, support resources in China and Norway, etc. It will supply an efficient communication platform for further collaboration on seaweed cultivation and science between China and Norway.
