Dr. Genki Terauchi, coming from NOWPAP CEARAC secretariat, organizes exchanges and seminars
NOWPAP is affiliated to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), which mainly implements UNEP's ocean-related plans in the Northwest Pacific Region. NOWPAP consists of four member states (including China, Japan, South Korea and Russia) and one of its divisions is the Special Monitoring and Coastal Environmental Assessment Regional Activity Centre (CEARAC). Among them, the Chinese expert and representative of eutrophication of NOWPAP CEARAC is Prof. Zhiming Yu, from the Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IOCAS). In the preliminary work, CEARAC has conducted the construction of assessment methods and the diagnosis of coastal eutrophication in the early stages of implementation in the NOWPAP region. On this basis, CEARAC will carry out a long-term eutrophication assessment action continuously in the NOWPAP region.
