OBITUARY

Yunshan Qin, an excellent member of the Communist Party, senior academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the member of ninth Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, the tenth National People's Congress, the fourth and fifth director of Institute of Oceanology, CAS, the fourth secretary of the Party Committee of Institute of Oceanology, CAS honorary chairman of Chinese Society for Oceanology and Limnology, marine geologist and one of the pioneers and contributors in marine sedimentation research in China, professor of Institute of Oceanology, CAS passed away on November 22, 2015 in Qingdao，aged 82.

A memorial service will be held at 9:00 AM on 25 November in Qingdao Funeral Home in Qingdao.
