I was invited to participate in the 2016 European Corrosion Congress at Montpellier, France, during September. 11th to September. 16th. The annual European Corrosion Conference is sponsored by the European Federation of Corrosion. The conference is one of the highest international academic conferences in the field of corrosion and protection. EUROCORR 2016 was a forum for the International exchange of information about all aspects of corrosion and corrosion protection, with emphasis on “Advances in linking sciences to engineering”. The conference is divided into hot gas and fuel corrosion, nuclear corrosion, corrosion mechanism, marine microbial corrosion, concrete and steel corrosion, corrosion of oil and gas products.

EUROCORR 2016 is designed to encourage and promote related fields of corrosion experts from universities, research centers, and industries for presentation and discussion of advances in understanding corrosion phenomena and progress in corrosion prevention. During the meeting, I gave the presentation in Microbial Corrosion and titled “Effects of sulfate-reducing bacteria on localized corrosion behaviors of Q235 carbon steel” and discussed with the experts who interested the research. There is some inspiration for the follow-up study of this work.

During September 17th to September. 21th, I was invited to visit Zhou Xiaorong Professor’s research group in Corrosion and Protection Centre School of Materials at the University of Manchester.

Corrosion and protection center of the University of Manchester is one of the world's largest the academic base on corrosion and control. Professor Zhou is a scientist who has high attainments and reputation in the surface treatment of light metal alloys and corrosion protection.

During the research collaboration and academic exchange with the University of Manchester, I visited Professor Zhou’ s research laboratory, and discussing the corrosion  control of light alloys in marine environment, etc. The mechanism and research progress of anti-corrosion control technology in the marine environment were introduced by Professor Zhou. In-depth to discuss the recent achievements on the mechanism of the marine corrosion and specific experimental apparatus and method for studying microbial corrosion.
