My research interests are equatorial wave dynamics, tropical ocean (particularly the Indian Ocean) variability and dynamics, the forcing of the Indian Ocean interannual variability on the Pacific Ocean and climate through the Indonesian Throughflow. Most of my studies are based on general ocean circulation model and coupled model simulations. The most recent work analyzed the moored observations in the Indonesian seas.
