The First International Conference of Fish and Shellfish Immunology was held in  the Novacaixagalicia Social Center of Vigo (Galicia, Spain) during the period from June 25th to 28th , 2013 with more than 200 participants from all over the world. Professor Jianhai Xiang, Professor Fuhua Li and Dr. Yumiao Sun from IOCAS attended the conference.

Professor Xiang delivered a presentation “Recent advances in researches on innate immunity of penaeid shrimp”. Professor Li gave the presentation “Analysis on the potential functional relationship among Dorsal, Cactus and Relish in the immunity of Chinese shrimp Fenneropenaeus chinensis”. And Dr. Sun communicated the topic “Transcriptomic analysis of the initial stage of acute WSSV infection caused by temperature change”. This important conference displayed the latest progress on the immunology of the aquatic organisms and provided an academic communication platform for scientists of this field around the world.
