"Kexue" R/V Marine Research Team Was Awarded "Technology Innovation Team" in "CCTV 2014 Science Festival"

On the morning of December 24th, the press conference of "Science and Technology Festival---CCTV 2014 S&T Innovation Award Ceremony" was held in Beijing's Media Centre. Around the theme of "Innovation Drives Development", it solemnly announced ten "S&T Innovation Characters" and three "S&T Innovation Teams". Marine Research Team of "Kexue" R/V, Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences was awarded the "S&T Innovation Team". 

"CCTV 2014 S&T Innovation" was launched jointly by CCTV and CAS and co-organized by Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, Chinese Academy of Engineering, Chinese Association for Science and Technology, National Natural Science Foundation and State Administration for Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense. Based on opinions from experts and common people, the event focuses on annual major innovations in the field of science and technology, and selects annually most influential "S&T Innovation Figures". The committee members for the selection are mainly representatives of academicians of CAS and CAE as well as of the hosts, media, associations and representatives of other areas, which have both authority and credibility. After three rounds, the selection committee selected ten "S&T Innovation Characters" and three "S&T Innovation Teams" from 84 candidates, including individuals and teams.  

"Science and Technology Festival---CCTV 2014 S&T Innovation Award Ceremony" will first be shown on CCTV-10, the science and educational channel, at 7: 50 pm on Dec. 30th. It will show the general audience a banquet with China's top scientists and S&T innovations, and pay tribute to the scientific spirit of pursuing breakthroughs in oneself, exploring the future and adhering to innovation.
