China, Japan Strengthen Cooperation in Marine Corrosion Protection

Research fellow TANABE Hiroyuki from Dai Nippon Toryo Co., Japan paid a visit to the Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IOCAS) on February 1st, 2011.

As CAS visiting professorship for senior international scientists, TANABE Hiroyuki will stay in IOCAS for one year during which the two sides will carry out collaborative research in the field of marine corrosion protection, including the law of corrosion damage for reinforced concrete structure in ocean environment as well as the detection and protection technology for reinforced concrete structure.

The collaboration between CAS and Japan side is expected to develop environment-friendly and long-term protective coatings, which can certainly integrate talent personnel and technology of both sides, and succeed in researching and developing the protection method used in marine environment.
