Professor Dun Zhang and Dr. Peng Wang have been to Korea for international conference and visiting Sogang University from 26th April to 2nd May. During this period, they visited lab of professor Young Soo Kang, and had academic exchanges with researchers in Sogang University. Furthermore, they presented oral reports on the international conference.

 

The 2nd International Conference on Machine Design and Manufacturing Engineering（ICMDME 2013), from this year ICMDME will serves as an international forum for researchers around the world to exchange their experiences, new ideas, latest research results and suggestions for future development. The shared experiences on machine design,mechanical and manufacturing engineering will provide the participant with invaluable references for future collaboration.

 

Sogang University has full material testing machines, including SEM, XRD, TEM and so on. This is very important for material fabrication and performance research, because it can help to adjust experiment process and plan according to testing results. There are many advanced precision devices for film fabrication, such as atomic layer deposition system, CVD and so on, in lab of professor Young Soo Kang.

This is very convenient for research about the relationship between material structure and performance in microscopic scale. Furthermore, chemistry department in Sogang University provides many exchange opportunities for researchers, including international conference and visiting. All these are very important for expanding research thoughts and publishing high-quality papers.

 

It is impressed that there is gap between international advanced institute and us, though our research level is rising. One of the most obvious gaps is embodied in experiment instrument. The visiting is helpful to the co-operation in novel materials for marine corrosion and biofouling research between our lab and professor Young Soo Kang lab. It is also helpful to improve the public awareness of our lab and institute in marine corrosion and biofouling research.

 

Through the international conference, we obtain information about the newly development in materials science. At the same time, we can expand our research thoughts and establish potential international co-operation relations by communicating with famous scientist in materials science.
