'My research is mainly focused on the formation and circulation of salinity maximum water in the subtropical oceans based on in-situ and satellite data combined with results from numerical models. These saline water masses are major sources of ‘salt’ in the ocean, and are also sensitive components of the climate system, therefore their variability carries useful information whereby climate change may be detected and understood. Now, I have processed almost all hydrographic data in the global ocean, based on which I will study the structure and variability of the subtropical saline water in the next step.' said by Linlin. 'Besides works, there are also lots of entertainments here. At the weekend, I often go shopping, swimming, or take some exercises with my friends. I make friends and communicate with peoples from all over the world, which helps us to know more about cultures of different countries. I spread Chinese cultures to foreigners, and meanwhile I learn a lot from them, including their traditions, life style, optimistic spirit and polite behaviors etc. In one word, I am very glad to have this opportunity to study in Hawaii, and all experiences here will exert significant influences on both my career and my life.'
