South Australia and Shandong Province have established a Sister State Level Relationship since 1986. Adelaide and Qingdao have also established their Friendly Cooperative City status since 2000 and established a Sister City Level Relationship in 2013. Recently, the South Australia Premier Mr Jay Weatherill visited Shandong Province with the largest delegation of South Australian business leaders on a Government trip. There were many synergies between the economies of the two states. Both have strong wine, agricultural, advanced manufacturing and resources sectors.

Aim: To develop collaboration and partnership on marine science and technology R&D, education and industry development between IOC and Flinders University and SA
