In recent years, IOCAS has spent great effort to enhance and upgrade its research facilities and equipments with modern technology and national and international standards. The total values of equipments reached 140 million Yuan in 2006 and more than 100 major instruments in operation. A number of new equipments and instruments have been purchased such as ion trap liquid chromatography-coupled mass spectrometer, Flow Cytometer, Marine Gravimeter, towed oceanographic vehicles, marine CTD winch, 10km traction winch for geological sampling, network server SGI3400, stable isotope MS system, modern gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, ICP-MS, X-ray diffractometer, 500 M nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer.. These new instruments have enhanced our research capacity in many fields.
